In only 1 to 2 hours southern from Padang, you may visit dreamy and often lonely islands.
Raw Villages
West Sumatra is full of villages with beautiful Minangkabau houses and sometimes traditional pagoda-style mosques. These mosques may be a few hundred years old or just been constructed recently.
Walk around, get astonished by the many Minang houses and meet some of the locals. The people of West Sumatra have a very kind attitude and are heartwarming with their genuine hospitality. Definitely make sure to engage talking to them and/or taking selfies together!
